Day 14 - 65km - Belfast, Giant's Causeway

Early in the morning we had a ferry taking us from Cairnryan to Belfast. Then we visited the remains of Antrim Castle who was destroyed in 1922 by fire.

After Antrim we visited some of the most breathtaking places, Dark Hedges and my favourite - Giant's Causeway. Scientists say that those hexagonal basalt structures came from volcanic activity, when lava was cooling and contraction made the stone fracture. Causeway isn't the only place on earth (or even UK) where you can see stone shaped like this (for instance, in Scotland there is an island called Staffa, with that same basalt structure), but this one is maybe the most impressive in Europe. Entrance is free, but if you want to park on a parking place then you will have to pay. We parked somewhere along the road.

Just as we finished sightseeing, rain started. Rest of the afternoon we spent heading west and looking for a camp. We found one in Castlerock and settled there. The owner gave us a free overnight stay.
