Today we are going to Leiden. It is just between Gauda and Amsterdam. I don't know do I even have to mention, but we had a bit of showers and front wind. Apparently, the weather was very good until the day we came to the Netherlands.

Just "a bit" of rain... |
On the way we passed very close to the airport. Every couple of minutes an aircraft was landing.

On this pic below you can see how they managed to put bicycle paths everywhere - they simply took out the car lane and made it into a bicycle lane. This is an example of a two-way road for cars. Cars drive in the middle of the road until they have to pass an incoming vehicle - in that case both vehicles move to their right, to the bicycle lane (carefully, not to be in the cyclists way), and afterwards again drive in the middle.
There isn't much car traffic in the Netherlands, not even between the cities.

House and building styles are changing from town to town, from neighbourhood to neighbourhood, even from street to street.

Leiden, just like Amsterdam and Utrecht, has a park. We rested a bit in the Sun, got sunburned (I guess raint isn't that bad afterall :)), and then went to find our host for this night. Every day we are sending emails to make reservation for our stay via the Vrienden op de Fiets so we don't have to bother with finding a place to stay once we arrive somewhere - we already got it covered for few days in advance.
