Netherlands - day 2 - Amsterdam

In the morning we got a fine breakfast, packed up, payed our hosts (38€) and went on our way to Amsterdam. Weather wasn't that great - rain showers and strong front wind - and I didn't have anything waterproof for my head so first we went back to the city to find a store with sports equipment so I could buy a hat.
One thing we noticed in Utrecht is that literally everyone was taller than us, although we are both above average european height. For instance, in the store where I bought a hat, there were 3 salesmen and they were all above 2 meters.

Utrecht and Amsterdam are well connected by bicycle roads so we didn't mind the rain. Although I cannot say the same for the wind...

In the afternoon we arriver to Amsterdam. Only 55km in total, but for me very hard because of the front wind. There were moments when I couldn't drive faster than 8km/h. But it was all soon forgotten when we decided to grab a lunch in a Royal Fook Long restaurant with "all you can eat" menu. Restaurant was also very close to the flat of our new host, where we went right after the lunch.

Our host, Wilhelmijn, had just arrived from Scotland and we had much to talk about. She recommended us to visit the islands on the North od the Netherlands. They are not in our plans for this trip, so maybe some other time...
